Meet Our Faculty & Facilitators

Steve serves as pastor of First Baptist Church in Nickelsville and also as President of our Appalachian School of Theology. He and his wife Sandy have one son, daughter-in-law and two grandchildren.  Contact him at president@astva.org

Larry & Nancy are retired educators from the public school system and are members at First Baptist in Nickelsville. They have three children and eight grandchildren.  Larry also serves as our Treasurer and Nancy serves as our Regional Library Director and also as the Registrar of our Appalachian School of Theology.  Contact her at registrar@astva.org

 Kevin is a native of Winchester, Va , a graduate of UVa and Southern Seminary.  He and his wife Brenda have  three children  and seven grandchildren. He recently retired as pastor of Salem Baptist for 32+ years. Kevin also serves as Student Advisor. Contact him at studentadvisor@astva.org

Doug serves as senior pastor of Salem Baptist Church in Sparta, VA.  He and his wife  Deborah have five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  Doug also also serves as our developer and coordinator over our India operations.  Contact him at indiacoordinator@astva.org

P.J. serves as lead pastor at Uplift Church in Weber City. He and his wife Amanda have four daughters. Contact him at programmer@astva.org

Mary Beth is an educator in the public school system and youth minister at First Baptist Church in Nickelsville. She and her husband Adam have two children.  Mary Beth also serves as the Faculty Chair of our Appalachian School of Theology. Contact her at facultychair@astva.org

Tammy is a retired Registered Nurse and is a member of First Baptist Church in Nickelsville. She and her husband, Fred, have four children, four grandchildren, and one great granddaughter. Wayne has served in  several churches throughout southwest Virginia and east Tennessee as well as serving within the BGAV. He and his wife Delilah have two children and three grandchildren. Bob is a  lay servant and leader at Alley's Chapel Methodist Church in Manville.  He and his wife Wanda (deceased) have two children and two grandchildren. 

 Rick is a manager at American Electric Power. He is also a Bible teacher and small group leader at Christ Fellowship Church in Kingsport. He and his wife Rhonda live  in Gate City and have two children and two grandchildren.

 Chuck is a retired businessman who has devoted much of his life to international missions outreach. He is a member at Salem Baptist Church in Sparta and serves as our international travel coordinator at our Appalachian School of Theology. Contact him at internationalcoordinator@astva.org
